About the Swiss Stroke Society
Interdisciplinarity and interprofessional collaboration are at the heart of our society. We bring together all professional groups involved in the care of stroke patients and see ourselves as a platform for professional exchange between clinicians, researchers and other medical professionals.
Our aim is to continuously develop high-quality, evidence-based stroke care in Switzerland. A central task here is the development of national medical guidelines, which serve as the basis for uniform and optimal patient care.
We actively promote the implementation of these quality standards by establishing and certifying stroke units and stroke centers - in close cooperation with the Swiss Federation of Clinical NeuroSocieties (SFCNS). The quality of care is continuously monitored and further developed.
In addition, we operate a national stroke register in which key quality indicators are recorded and analyzed in order to sustainably improve care.
Another focus of our activities is the promotion of further education, training and research in the field of cerebrovascular diseases. Among other things, we organize
- an annual scientific conference
- an interprofessional symposium
- the Swiss Stroke Trialist Meeting
Together, we are committed to improving stroke care, strengthening collaboration and optimizing treatment outcomes for patients in the long term.
