Guidelines for the submission of abstracts

The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for presentation at the 29th Annual Meeting of the Swiss Brain Stroke Society. The meeting will take place on January 28, 2027 at the Triemli Spital in Zurich, Switzerland.

In order to standardize the abstract layout, please read the guidelines carefully.

Topics for abstract submission

Authors are asked to select a topic under which their abstract will be reviewed:

• Stroke syndromes and vasculitis
• Treatment of acute strokes, thrombolysis, thrombectomy, preclinical phase
• Stroke prevention
• Intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage and aneurysms
• Pathophysiology of stroke
• Stroke rehabilitation and plasticity

Abstract body

• Abstracts can only be submitted via the online submission form. Abstracts submitted by fax or e-mail will not be accepted.
• All abstracts must be submitted in English and presented in English. Please use British spelling.
• The abstract text must be no longer than 350 words, excluding authors, references and titles.
• The following structure is required:
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
• All abbreviations must be defined when they first appear in your text, but must not be defined in the title.
• A maximum of one table or one image in high-resolution JPG format may be included in the abstract.

Authors

• The corresponding author is responsible for informing the co-authors about the status of the abstract. Please ensure that the corresponding/presenting author's e-mail address and full name are correct.
• The presenting author of an accepted abstract must register and attend the congress. Poster presenters must be present during the poster session and stand next to their poster.
• Authors should indicate their preferred method of presentation:
  • Poster presentation only
  • Oral or poster presentation
• If you wish to make corrections to an abstract that has already been submitted, please contact the congress secretariat by e-mail: info@neurovasc.ch. Please note that no changes are possible after the above-mentioned abstract deadline.

Notification of authors

Abstracts are subject to approval by the Program Committee and final assignment for inclusion in the program as an oral or e-poster presentation. Authors will be notified by email in December 2025 (so it is important that you provide your correct email address). Full instructions for preparation and presentation will be attached.

Abstract price

The three best abstracts will be presented as part of the scientific program and will receive prize money sponsored by Congrex Switzerland.
